Coffee Pods | What You Need to Know

There is one important distinction to make here: coffee pods are not k-cups!
Coffee pods are small paper pouches that are filled with coffee. Think of it as your coffee and filter all in one. However, to use these coffee pods you will need a specific type of coffee brewer.
The advantage? Coffee pods are extremely simple, easy to use, and perfect for making a quick single-serve cup of coffee.
Sound familiar? Of course, it does, but remember: it’s not a k-cup! Let’s look at a few of the key differences between the two and see which one is the better choice:
Coffee Pods vs K-Cups

Paper Material | Non-recyclable
Cost Effective | More Expensive
Richer Coffee | Weaker Coffee

Frequently Asked Questions
Here are a few of the most common questions we’ve gotten from friends, family members, and other people looking to find the most quality coffee.
Can coffee freeze?
This question is very common for iced coffee enthusiasts. Yes, coffee can freeze, and chances are you probably won’t want to reheat it after it’s frozen. It can become very watered down and lose its flavor. Some people may choose to make coffee ice cubes, however!
Will coffee go bad if I order it online?
Ordering coffee or coffee beans online will not impact the quality of your coffee. It is just like buying coffee in a store! Just stick with reputable distributors like the ones we recommend and you will be just fine.
Is black coffee actually better?
This comes down to preference. Most people just starting out drinking coffee may not like the bold taste of black coffee, and want to add flavor with creamers or syrups. Once you begin to be more of a coffee coinsure, however, you can start to notice the acidity and flavor in the beans, which will give you more of an appreciation for coffee with no additives.
Again, at the end of the day, it’s all preference.
Can coffee stunt your growth?
As of today, there is no valid evidence to support that coffee will stunt a person’s growth. That’s according to Harvard Health from a paper published in 2020.
How much caffeine does coffee have?
A standard cup of coffee (8 fl oz) will contain 95 mg of caffeine. However, with newer brewing methods like cold brew and nitro cold brew, each cup of coffee can vary in caffeine amounts, so be sure to read your labels or ask your barista for confirmation so you don’t overdo it.
